An abrasive capable of being bent and twisted as a “backing” such as paper, cloth or film, can be attached to suit abrasive grains. Coated grinding tools allow to achieve different steps for material removal in the most effective way. They are widely used in woodworking, metalworking, and even in final finishing. In woodworking, they would smooth rough cut boards, and in metalworking, they are good for deburring and pre finishing operations. They can be bent, making it more suitable for objects with uneven shapes.
